DIY - How to Open a Young Coconut

This is for Annie and anyone else wondering how to open a young coconut. I couldn't find Yardsnacker's video on how to open one but this link by the Raw Guru shows you step by step how to do it, which is how we do it here at home. It does take practice but seriously, if I can do it anyone can. Well, except maybe those who shouldn't be trusted with big knives to begin with! You could also google for other ways to open coconuts (young or mature) or check out YouTube.

And this DIY magazine from the 60's is a hoot! It's "for the practical man about the house." ha ha! Yeah, okay. But I certainly don't mind having a handy man, especially if he can crack open a coconut for me. :)

I think I'd fall into that category of can't be trusted with big (or little) knives.

As for practical man about the house, maybe I oughta get that book for BJ.

okay well idn if i dont like coconut, but i do know that i dont like SHREDDED coconut. Maybe its the consistency??

i've eaten a coconut before and enjoyed it, and i DEFINITELY like coconut milk, but idn, something abotu shredded coconut --- i just dont like it.

Me - I just get my DH to do it. Hehe :) I used to do it with a cleaver on the front porch but my DH got annoyed with me leaving husks out there. LOL!

That's so funny, this morning I used the word "Hoot" out of the blue. What a hoot! :-)
I love seeing all the ways to open a coconut. I wish it was easier! They should invent a coconut opening gadget.

WEGO Health: Superpower!

We’ve all daydreamed about having a superpower like superheroes, haven’t we? I mean Superman can fly, reverse time (at least, in the name of love) and is uber strong. Spiderman, well, he uses web power to fly around and catch bad guys. There are other interesting superpowers like invisibility, walking through walls, shape shifting, or reading of the mind. That last one doesn’t interest me much ever since I watched an old episode of the Twilight Zone where the character could suddenly hear everyone’s thoughts and there was no filter so it became overwhelming and noisy in his head. Um, no thanks. At certain times though, I’ve wished for the ability. Could’ve saved a lot of problems, you know? Or be a fly on the wall… * According to this list, there’s insanely rich. The "Glow"

I know I'm supposed to be working on a different post - about my trip - but wanted to interrupt that to share something else. ******** People into the raw food lifestyle are familiar with the "glow." Maybe you're one who's been told a time or two that you have the glow. It's noticeable to spot a person who obviously is taking care of themselves by what they do and put into their bodies and especially when on the raw food lifestyle. Eating raw foods allows your body to properly process and digest foods plus all the those living enzymes and minerals means less work your body has to do so the result is a beautiful youthful glow.
