Catching up

Image
Hi Everyone! Happy 4 t h o f J u l y ! For me, it's time for a stay-cation to relax and play and sleep and whatever else I need to catch up on. Speaking of catching up, here are some pics I took in late April when YS2 and I went to a local botanical garden. I love gardens and this one was simply magical to me. I actually used my digital camera instead of my cellphone so the quality is an improvement from my usual here. Because I had so many pictures and not wanting to bore those who may not be interested or wanting to see them all, I'm posting as a slideshow from my Flickr account (and there's many more not included!). Funny thing is, I couldn't remember my original Flickr account info it's been so long so I had to re-register. Oh, and guess what? Little YS2 finally got his first haircut! He was 3 years and 44 days old... even though it looks like he was really crabby, he actually wasn't :) I nearly lost it when those first snips hap...

Thoughtful Thursday

Happy Mother's Day! Sunday, May 13th ♥ To ALL the moms of humans and fur-kids ♥   `   ` ` ` ` ` ` ` "A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me. It isn't very pretty anymore. Some may even think it ugly. That's OK. It was your home. It's where I first grew to love you, where I lay my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It held you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it." ~by Cassie   [ source ]

A Special Thoughtful Thursday

HaPpY bIrThDaY to my little guy, Caleb! He is 3 years old today, which brings me to tears because it's flown by so quickly. I love him more and more each day. He has brought so much joy to our home. I truly am blessed. Happy birthday sweet face. ` ` ` ` ` `

WEGO Health: Day 20

Image
Today’s WEGO Health writing challenge prompt is writing a news-style article on a miracle cure. I don’t think I’d be good at this one because I’d want a miracle cure for everything and everyone .   It’s hard to be selective with something like this, although, I do have some things in mind… So I’m skipping today’s prompt (because I can) and doing a post that I’d like to share instead. A Heidi-style post to put it simply. A post where I ramble on about this and that from the week and pics I’d like to share (even if they’re not the best; some of you might’ve seen these via twitter or instagram). It’s how I roll. So, here we go. In six 13 days ( I am such a dork! I skipped a whole week that I thought Caleb's birthday was next week but it's the week after...my mind...where did it go? ), my little munchkin will be THREE! I’m sitting here crying thinking about it. Where has the time gone?! Seriously. Sigh…I love him so much and it truly has been a dream every.singl...

WEGO Health: Acts of Kindness

Image
Day 11 : I’m skipping today’s suggested prompt and going with another. Today’s original prompt was a theme song. It stumped me so I’m moving on…although, Sam suggested the theme song to Benny Hill for me. Hahahaha! It’s the perfect music for me when I’m out for a walk with YS2 and trying to keep up with him on his bike. Picture it…with the music. I’m going to laugh every time I’m out with him now. And good grief! This is my 3rd blog post today. Egads! Sorry, folks! I know you're not used to such activity (nor am I) but I appreciate you hanging in there. Anyway… source What is the kindest act you have witnessed in recent memory? Was it a random act of kindness or a moment between loved ones? How did it affect you? Hopefully you saw the video I posted earlier ; to me it was a wonderful display of human kindness. Sure, you could say the man behind the video used this opportunity to share the little boy’s fun cardboard arcade to inflate his own ego, to create ...

Half a Minute of Sweetness from a 2 Year Old

Image
Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is going good so far. Thought I'd share a cute little video of YS2 with you today. I try to not inundate you with a lot of pics and videos of my sweet angel here on my blog, although, I probably do more than my fair share of pics...but it has been awhile since I've posted a video of YS2 in action and this one is just too cute (IMO) to not share. This was taken recently by hubby of YS2 being a little scared -- he got himself in a predicament and needed help. My fave is at 0:04. So sweet I wanted to rescue him myself. It's also funny how quickly the energy shifts -- so two. Hope you enjoy!

YS2's Snack Time

Image
Snack time is always happening here with/for YS2 - after all, he is a growing boy. Besides the many seasonal fruits to snack on like blueberries, strawberries, mangoes, plums, and the list goes on...he enjoys some other fun things: Personally, I'm not a fan of dulse or wakame but who am I to deny such tasty and healthy morsels to YS2?

Two

My little bambino, Caleb (aka YS2, Yardsnacker Jr., Sweet Baby, Bugaboo, Chub-Lubs, etc.) is two years old today. Sigh. It’s been an amazing two years and life has never been the same. To my sweet boy- I love you because you’re a part of me and a part of your papa but you are all you and so very very special. I love you because you love all. I love you for your spirit, your sweetness. I love it when you see a metro bus you point to it and say, “Mama!” because you know I take the bus to work. I love that you have red hair and blue eyes, just like your Grandma S. I love that when something is broken you want me to fix it with tape, even flat tires. I love that you kiss your own boo-boos. I love that when others are sad you give them kisses and loves. I love that you love green apples (granny smiths). I love that there are many foods you love that many adults have never tried or heard of. I love you because you are adventurous. I love you because you are a little shy. I lov...

A New Day, A New Month

Image
Hello everybody! Hope your Monday is off to a good start…for a Monday. Here's a recap with some pics taken from the weekend. peekaboo! I’m still dreaming about yesterday – the weather here was most incredible. Simply gorgeous and wonderful to be outside and soak in the sun (not all pics shown were taken yesterday - Saturday's weather wasn't as spectacular as Sunday's). Of course, the weekend was filled with garden time but it was the weekend we needed to have our garden in shape for the season. Being part of a community garden there are rules to be kept and meeting the cultivation deadline is one of them. It’s all good though. We hired a nephew to come weed (yay). I’d do it but someone’s gotta keep up with YS2! So while nephew weeded the strawberry bed, Yardsnacker tilled the plots. It’s looking good now. Soon we’ll be planting all of our goodies. We went for several walks this weekend too – along with everyone else it seems in the neighborhood. That means lot...
