Shtuff

The traveling blood bank was in my building yesterday and today. I thought about donating a pint of my good-enough-for-me blood but after what happened last time, I decided nope, not gonna. I didn't want another "I tried" sticker so the gallon pin has eluded me once again. Actually, I might have been able to donate with flying colors - although I thought that last time too - but I'm going to wait until possibly next time they come around to try. I need to improve my iron levels (future post on iron maybe??) and then go with confidence. Oh yeah.

Okay, this is super cool: today my boss and I were talking about a variety of stuff and I had mentioned how Sam goes to the garden on his bike almost daily to water and check on things I don't go because 1) it's too much gas to drive out there everyday and 2) I don't have a bike to tag along. He said you wanna bike? Me, uh yeah! It's his grown daughter's bike that's probably hardly been used (a mountain bike no less) that he was going to give to charity or to some random kid on the street. I guess I'm charity. :) Now, I have no idea what it looks like so I hope it's not lame but hey, it's free! I am actually very grateful for it. He's going to check it out for me to see if all's okay with it then I'll go pick it up. I can't wait!

I have a motto I'm going to adopt for the challenge that starts Friday:

"What the mind can imagine and believe the body can achieve"

Well, I got to get this body of mine moving. Time for exercise and projects to accomplish at home.

I'm going to paint flames on it and put a roaring tiger horn on it like Pee Wee's.

so so awesome! free bike!
I got mine at a garage sale, Sailor got his at a thrift shop, then he put $125 tires on them. They are solid because this city doesn't believe in getting rid of puncture weeds that grow randomly everywhere.
I can ride with confidence. Happy you joined the bike crowd. and a mountain bike, no less
yea

How cool to have a bike to ride with your partner! Isn't it just like a man to take over, he is going to do so much to YOUR bike! LOL... I can't wait for pictures of it! Have fun!

Great motto by the way!!

SCORE! That's so awesome that you are getting a free bike! You and Sam can have even more fun together!! :-)

As for the low iron, I'm consistently low. My stomach acid is low, which causes me to not absorb iron, even though I'm taking in enough through my diet. Do you know the cause of your low iron? Are you trying to correct it in any way? I take supplements every now and then. I didn't take any for a few months and then I progressively became more and more tired. After giving blood on Monday (9 vials!), I started taking it again and my energy is increasing. Yay!

I'm really thinking that the longer I'm raw, the more my stomach acids will get to a normal level and I won't need to rely on supplements to keep me regulated with the iron and B12.

Will you be taking pics of you on the bike? :-)

Lots of love to you,

Wendi

I just left you a long comment and then my internet went down. =/

Here we go, it wont be all of what i said, but heres the basics:

The Universe knew that you wanted a bike, and it gave it to you. HOW AWESOME. Lucky you!

that quote that you have on here gave me the chills. I have used quotes like that so much in my climbing career and in my life --- have you ever heard of creative visualization? I don't know where I would be without it!!!!

Have you seen the movie The Secret?

Law of attraction baby, yeah!!

Happy for you!! I'm in the market for one too, was talking about it and a few months ago my mom showed up for a visit and out of her soob outback pops this little mangled looking pile of wheels, etc... it was a folding bike! HA! Never saw anything like it in my life but it's pretty cool. (Been sitting in the garage tho ever since! I need to get some air in the tires)

Funny how things have a way of finding their way into your life, right?

Btw, i'm in... will msg you soon.

"What the mind can imagine and believe the body can achieve."

Sounds like "What the Soul Yearns For, the Body Must Follow." In the beautiful lyrics of Sting: Let your soul be your pilot.

The bicyle ride is just another phrase for exploration of the familar. Adventures await! Ask and you shall recieve.

That's awesome! OK, next time ask for a car. ;)

I'm with beearawfoodie- I'm totally into "The Secret". I loaned the movie to someone but didn't get it back. I suppose she needed it more than me. ;)

The movie is a little bit over the edge, but the concept is spot on.
