Hi Faith, thanks for stopping by! What you see is my homemade guacamole. Fresh avos, tomato, LOTS of sweet yellow onions, celtic sea salt, fresh ground cumin, black pepper (white pepper is also very good), fresh minced garlic (4 cloves! but this guac had lots of avocados). Since I didn't have any fresh jalapenos I used Mrs. Renfro's pickled jalapenos (doubt they're raw) - chopped up a bunch of those and added in some of the jalapeno juice, which took place of lemon or lime juice. Guacamole is so flexible so whatever suits your taste buds or heat level would be good. Most people add in cilantro but I'm not a fan so you'll never see my guac with it! :)

I just absolutely love avocados and guacamole is heaven to me so to me this is LOVE.

Oh man. This is love! I have been eating guac almost daily. I make a simple version at work with just avo tomato, green onion, olive oil and sea salt. I think guacamole is the best invention, it is so fun to see how everyone make a different version, but they are all so good. Have a wonderful day!

So it had been quite awhile since Yardsnacker and I had our cupboards full of our favorite raw treats and supplements so this past Saturday we finally stocked up at our local raw store, Raw Vegan Source (they mentioned they were in the process of updating their website so not sure it's really up to snuff just yet but for those interested they do ship nationally). Just thought I'd share some of the things we bought. Some of the things we picked up were definitely splurges or rather, new for us. Such as this candy bar. It was pretty good. I thought the chocolate itself could use more sweetening but the filling was delicious! If you're not familiar with raw caramel it's not ooey-gooey like you'd typically find in conventional candy. This has a drier texture - just no t gooey - but was perfectly sweet and satisfying li ke caramel. Anyone who is a non-meat eater has most likely been asked the question “where do you get your protein?” I was once one of those individuals so I do not judge. It was only after embarking on the raw food lifestyle that I began to really know or learn about protein (okay, still learning). Now I’m sure there were be plenty of people who will disagree or not fully agree with my post and maybe successfully argue for the other side or be content with the path they are on.
