WEGO Health: Health Activist Choice + a giveaway
Hiya friends! Thanks for your support thus far on my writing challenge. It's been fun and interesting for me to do this and fortunately, I enjoy writing (a new discovery in recent years).
Today's topic for HAWMC/WEGO Health - Day 7, is whatever I choose. Hmm...what to choose, what to choose...well, it was fairly easy for me to decide, actually. It's having a hobby...or two or however many, or some sort of other outlet or me-time. Something along those lines.
Maybe it's because I'm a Libra but I've always believed in balance. One should always have balance in their life, in every aspect. These days it's so easy to get out of balance because we're pulled in so many different directions with our jobs, school, home life, health, etc. that there's not much time left over to just be or to have some other form of (creative) outlet.
Having a hobby or something you really enjoy doing is a great way to get back into balance. Regroup, refocus, relax, zone, or whatever. Something that gets the mind off things, if needed.
We all need "time outs" of sorts, so even if you don't have a hobby per se, having family time, getting out with friends, window shopping, going for a drive, or getting a mani-pedi or writing or gardening can do wonders for one's psyche, even if it's just 10 minutes a day.
I like to do it all, zoning included, but getting a little crafty is a fun outlet for me. Nothing too fancy usually but something that makes me happy and hopefully, makes the recipient happy too. These days, I've been working on a few things: finishing up my first afghan (it's taken me F-O-R-E-V-E-R but it's almost done if I just stay a little more focused), working on a 2nd, and some little glass magnets.
Wanna see?
The (purple) afghan has an intended recipient (hope she doesn't read this blog so there's an element of surprise when she gets it) but the glass magnets need a home. I made too many; I was having so much fun, I guess. ha ha!
Anyway, having a way to get yourself centered is so important. It benefits not only you but those you interact with (scary if you don't right?). Maybe it's time to pick up a new hobby or take a class of some sort. We have to remember ourselves and our well-being.
Giveaway
So what say you? Want to win a set+ of those magnets that I made? Of course, you do! There's a set (18) of small garden-themed magnets (free download here if you want to make your own or make plant markers like the creator of this darling printable did) PLUS, extras thrown in with similar garden/spring/summer themes (large and small), PLUS a pair of garden gloves (women's).
I will randomly select 3 winners. Enter by way of Rafflecopter if interested in the giveaway, otherwise, if not interested in the giveaway but still want to leave a comment, please do so below. I'd love to hear your thoughts and hear what one of your hobbies is or other way of getting back into balance.
Only entries received via Rafflecopter will count.
Hop hop hop! Happy Easter!
