Actually, lil YS2 is great traveler but this is his first real car trip. I'll have books to keep him occupied and hopefully entertained while in transit and also quality snacks at the ready. Maybe he'll even sleep on the way.
I'll update you later on where we went, what we did, and how it went. Wish us luck! :)
Happy Friday! Thought I'd let someone else take the reins today and share with you an interesting topic. How Raw Diets Can Make a Difference Transitioning to a raw food diet is often thought of as only a personal choice, as a journey that one individually decides to embark on for whatever reason, whether it be ethical or health-related or some other reason entirely. But the Examiner in Sacramento suggests an interesting idea involving raw food diets that could potentially make a difference in the greater community. The social problem that the Examiner discusses is the city's increased problems with homelessness among seniors. The article reports that Sacramento has seen a sharp rise in the elderly being displaced, resulting from what many speculate the aging of the Baby Boomer generation. The article goes on to posit a refreshing new idea that would offer homeless seniors both a source of sustaining and sustainable nutrition and that would also give them something rewarding ...
So it had been quite awhile since Yardsnacker and I had our cupboards full of our favorite raw treats and supplements so this past Saturday we finally stocked up at our local raw store, Raw Vegan Source (they mentioned they were in the process of updating their website so not sure it's really up to snuff just yet but for those interested they do ship nationally). Just thought I'd share some of the things we bought. Some of the things we picked up were definitely splurges or rather, new for us. Such as this candy bar. It was pretty good. This has a drier texture - just no t gooey - but was perfectly sweet and satisfying li ke caramel. To me anyway, which is all that counted at the time. :) On the way home we snarfed this raw hummus with Italian-seasoned flax cr ackers. I...
Anyone who is a non-meat eater has most likely been asked the question “where do you get your protein?” I was once one of those individuals so I do not judge. It was only after embarking on the raw food lifestyle that I began to really know or learn about protein (okay, still learning). Now I’m sure there were be plenty of people who will disagree or not fully agree with my post and maybe successfully argue for the other side or be content with the path they are on. I’m okay with this. Really. This post is more to point out that there are more ways than one in obtaining protein a body needs or hopefully help answer the question often asked. We all know protein is found in animal-based diets. vegparadise.com But protein is also found in plant-based diets. And lots of it! In fact, every whole food contains protein .
