a Contest AND a Giveaway (CLOSED)

Okay, I know I’ve got a giveaway going already…told ya tis the season for giveaways. I personally can’t seem to keep up with them all there's so many. I noticed my sidebar is looking a little sparse. Be sure to check my other giveaway out if you haven't already.

Anyway, this is a fun contest and a giveaway and a little different for HiHoRosie’s Place.

Dick’s Sporting Goods is sponsoring a Twitter-based contest for a chance to become a member of their “Starting Lineup.” The 10 nominees with the most votes by March 31, 2010 win.

What does it mean to be on the “Starting Lineup?”
• A chance to try out and preview new products
• A spot on an online panel of experts for one season (for approximately 3 months)

Here’s how to enter:
• Follow @dickssportcmo.
• Vote for yourself (or someone else) by telling @dickssportcmo who should be on the "Starting Lineup" and why. Sample Tweet: "@dickssportcmo my vote is for @TwitterID because...” (a sample of this sample is “@dickssportcmo my vote is for @hihorosie because she thinks she’s an expert”)
• You can only vote for the same person once per day, but you can vote for multiple people in the same day.
• Recruit others if you wish.

We’ve all daydreamed about having a superpower like superheroes, haven’t we? I mean Superman can fly, reverse time (at least, in the name of love) and is uber strong. Spiderman, well, he uses web power to fly around and catch bad guys. There are other interesting superpowers like invisibility, walking through walls, shape shifting, or reading of the mind. That last one doesn’t interest me much ever since I watched an old episode of the Twilight Zone where the character could suddenly hear everyone’s thoughts and there was no filter so it became overwhelming and noisy in his head. Um, no thanks. At certain times though, I’ve wished for the ability. Could’ve saved a lot of problems, you know? Or be a fly on the wall… * According to this list, there’s insanely rich. I never really thought of that as a superpower per se but it is one I would love to have. That superpower should just be a given.
