Walking in LA...

Maybe I just have that song stuck in my head but for those of you living/visiting in LA there is a new restaurant awaiting you: Planet Earth Eco Cafe in Hermosa Beach. Of course, this will be on my list when I visit one of these days. :) I would be interested in hearing if any of you try this place and what you thought. I believe in supporting and spreading the word of good establishments so let us all know. Hoping we'll get more options here in my neck of the woods. One day...

Goodies

So it had been quite awhile since Yardsnacker and I had our cupboards full of our favorite raw treats and supplements so this past Saturday we finally stocked up at our local raw store, Raw Vegan Source (they mentioned they were in the process of updating their website so not sure it's really up to snuff just yet but for those interested they do ship nationally). Just thought I'd share some of the things we bought. Some of the things we picked up were definitely splurges or rather, new for us. Such as this candy bar. It was pretty good. I thought the chocolate itself could use more sweetening but the filling was delicious! If you're not familiar with raw caramel it's not ooey-gooey like you'd typically find in conventional candy. This has a drier texture - just no t gooey - but was perfectly sweet and satisfying li ke caramel. Let's Talk About PROTEIN!

Anyone who is a non-meat eater has most likely been asked the question “where do you get your protein?” I was once one of those individuals so I do not judge. It was only after embarking on the raw food lifestyle that I began to really know or learn about protein (okay, still learning). Now I’m sure there were be plenty of people who will disagree or not fully agree with my post and maybe successfully argue for the other side or be content with the path they are on. I’m okay with this. Really. This post is more to point out that there are more ways than one in obtaining protein a body needs or hopefully help answer the question often asked.
